We have a series of acupuncture treatments available. They are:

Traditional Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient traditional Chinese modality that mainly consists of the insertion of fine needles into the body at specific points to treat a variety of health problems. ‘Qi’ (pronounced chi, is a fine, essential substance which nourishes and constructs the body) flows through distinct channels that cover the body somewhat like the nerves and blood vessels; acupuncture adjusts the flow of qi in the body, restoring the natural harmonious balance. Acupuncture can help with a variety of health issues, including colds & flus, allergies, nausea, circulatory problems, menstrual symptoms, muscle & joint pain, migraines, depression, and anxiety.

Cupping

Cupping applies acupressure by creating a vacuum on the patient’s skin using a heated jar, placed along meridians on the back and shoulders, or around areas of pain. As the air inside the jar cools, it contracts and draws the skin inside. Stagnant blood and lymph begin to move again, improving the flow of qi and helping with swelling and pain. Skin markings are common after the cups are removed, but treatments are not painful. Cupping is used to treat respiratory conditions, muscular pain, arthritic joints, fertility problems, digestive upsets, and skin ailments.

Gua Sha

Treatment is sometimes used alongside cupping or traditional acupuncture. In gua sha, a small round edged tool is moved in strokes over the skin to release toxins & disease. Small red marks will appear and fade within 2-3 days. Gua sha is used often in cold season to clear the body of viruses. It is also used when muscle pain is present as this indicates stagnation of blood. Gua sha helps to get the blood moving again and pain is relieved. Patients also experience relief from stiffness, fever, chills, respiratory symptoms and digestive issues.

Immune Boosting Treatment

Chinese medical theory is centered on the idea that the body’s energy (qi) circulates through the body in meridians that are sometimes blocked or slowed down, causing disease. Qi stagnation often happens as a result of emotional stress, which is why we get sick when stressed. In the immune boosting treatment, we focus on relieving stress and building immunity so that you get sick less frequently and are more able to fight off disease.

Auricular Therapy

In auricular therapy, the ear is used to stimulate organs and meridians in the body. The ear represents a fetus in the womb in an upside-down position. Following the theory of meridians in traditional Chinese medicine, we treat corresponding points in the body by stimulating points of the ear. Auricular therapy improves circulation and the flow of the lymphatic system, induces relaxation, stimulates the brain and boosts the immune system.
